Physiotherapist
My Story
In my opinion I have one of the best jobs in the world! I absolutely love being a physiotherapist as I have always had a deep desire to help people. In 2005 I qualified from the University of Bradford and moved to Newcastle to initially work with people recovering from Traumatic Brain Injuries.
I have worked in NHS for nearly 18 years, across a variety of clinical settings including musculoskeletal, neurology, orthopaedics, medicine and care of the elderly. My current role involves working onto acute wards and the emergency department to assess and treat a variety of conditions.
I specialised within the field of elderly care, falls, frailty and rehabilitation enabling me to gain further knowledge and skills around holistic care and treatment of adults following injury, illness and long-term conditions within the inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
I am a Chartered Physiotherapist, member of AGILE (Charted physiotherapist working with older people) + ACPIVR (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Vestibular Rehabilitation)
I’m excited and privileged to join the team at Tru and want to use my knowledge of anatomy, physiology, normal movement and exercise from my many years of clinical experience to improve people’s health and wellbeing and help them achieve their goals.
When I’m not working, you can find me with my hiking boots on either at the beach or up a mountain or on my mat practicing yoga + Pilates.
